onOne Software, the company behind professional photography software packages Genuine Fractals and Mask Pro, has announced an update to the Essentials 2.1 suite for Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Featuring technology from the company’s extensive range of plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop, the Essentials 2.1 software suite comprises four main tools - Make it Better!, Cut it Out!, Enlarge it! and Frame it! - each specifically optimized for Adobe Photoshop Elements. These features allow users to correct colour inaccuracies, replace backgrounds, make enlargements, and add frames to digital images quickly and easily.

The new version of Enlarge it! is based on the same image engine as the Genuine Fractals image enlargement software and features options for cropping and resizing images at the same time, essential for printing to your chosen paper size. With no noticeable loss of detail or sharpness, poster size prints are now within easy reach of novice users, claims onOne. The new version also has options to add film grain for a specific look, as well as specific controls for texture enhancement sharpening.

Essentials 2.1 supports Adobe Photoshop Elements versions 5 and 6 for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista, and Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 and 6 for Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard). Essentials 2.1 is available free of charge as an upgrade to all users of Essentials 1 or 2. The upgrade is available via the users automatic update option upon launching the program.

New users can download Essentials 2.1 directly from onOne Software at www.onOnsoftware.com for $59.95 (£30.25) or from authorised dealers and resellers.
